I reckon the larger issue is not the photoshop, its that celebraties are so idolized they need to do it. Why do people, especialy young girls and boys, idolize these people to that point? Why do people follow, and atempt to acheive, this supposed perfection? I work out and try to eat right, but I do it to be healthy and be able to do the fun things that i have planed in the future. I dont care about celebraties, i delight in movies and television shows but i dont care about the actors lives.
lol its not the artists fault… its nearly as if “they” are blaming/condemning retouchers for being excellent at what they do… the issue is that the general public demands perfection.
It is a time-honored tradition to make resolutions at this time of year. If your resolution is to lose weight – and keep it off, then keep reading! Here are six simple tips that will have you losing weight in a balanced and healthy way.
1. Lose weight with water.
Water is essential for everybody – it is also the key to losing weight. If you haven't been drinking enough water, your body has developed a pattern of storing water. This water retention equals extra unwanted weight.
By drinking more water, you are not only flushing out toxins, you are also teaching your body that it no longer needs to store water. Drink at least 60 ounces of water (about 8 glasses) a day. Boil water and sliced lemons, and drink this throughout the day to help with fluid retention. If you are still not sold on the merits of water, try this on for size: water is a natural appetite suppressant.
2. Soup up your weight loss program.
A simple dietary change will have you shedding pounds: eat a bowl of soup at least once a day. Nutritious, low-salt soups will nourish you as they flush waste from your body. People who eat a serving of soup daily lose more weight than those who eat the same amount of calories but don't eat soup. Go for homemade soup whenever possible, as canned soups are loaded with salt and chemicals.
3. Eat early to keep weight off.
The human body follows a circadian rhythm, which means that the same foods eaten at breakfast and lunch are processed differently than when eaten at dinner. Studies show that when you eat your daily protein and stout at breakfast you tend to lose weight and have more energy; but, eating the same things at dinner tend to increase tendencies toward weight gain. I suggest that you eat your last meal of the day by 7 p.m.
4. Eat smaller meals, more frequently.
Follow an eating schedule with five small meals every day. Eating steadily through the day keeps you from becoming famished and overeating at your next meal. Make a low-stout trail mix from raw almonds, pumpkin seeds, dried plum, and apples and have it available at all times to avoid the tempting lure of high-calorie snacks.
5. Adopt a balanced approach to your diet.
Most of the fad diet programs out there nowadays are extreme in a few recommended foods, or else deprive the body of food altogether. This works in opposition to our metabolism and the results usually don't last, producing a yoyo effect that depresses your metabolic function – not to mention your self-esteem. We are natural beings that need a balance of nutrition from all sources.
Your diet should consist of a balance of organic sources of lean protein, complex carbohydrates, whole grains, legumes, nuts, fruits, and vegetables. Instead of white rice and pasta, opt for brown rice, bulgur, millet, or buckwheat.
Eat more green, chlorophyll-rich foods such as broccoli, kale, spinach, and asparagus. Eliminate candy, sugar, soda, and all simple sugars from your diet. Excess sugar ends up being stored as stout in your body, which results in weight gain. Also, keep dairy to a minimum because most dairy products are high in saturated stout. Avoid fatty foods, processed or fried foods.
6. Walk off the weight.
The No. 1 cause of weight gain is inactivity. Physical activity is the key to speeding up your metabolism and burning excess calories. The best way to be physically active is to use your legs! Walk as often and as long as you can. Always take the stairs instead of the elevator.
Step outside during your break at work and take a walk around your building. Consider joining a local hiking club. Try taking a walk 30 minutes in the morning or 30 minutes in the early evening.
I hope this article helps you shed some pounds and add on the years! I invite you to visit often and share your own personal health and longevity tips with me.
May you live long, live strong, and live pleased!

a friend of mine had that and he passed out but after three years he should be over all that. sounds like time for a second opinion
I once retouched a photo of myself as a joke. It’s scary, but some people thought it was genuine, even though I was standing there in real life. It took them several minutes to figure it out. How are young girls supposed to know that the standard of beauty in magazines is not real?
Did anyone notice that the girl making the comment about photo manipulation stated that “magazing editors ASSUME the readers know the photos have been retouched”. Nice assumption to make. Welcome to the wonderful world of unethical attitudes.
There is some darn excellent ones about 60 miles north of you in Indy
Bann it? Not possible! I reckon somebody should just take lots time and money and go tell the miserable teens why their stars really look like they were made by a well-known artist! Show them what their extremely thin, stupit idols look like in the real world an why they appear so unnaturally gorgeous on pictures!
I reckon the most amusing thing that is said in this video is that it takes years of work with professional trainers to get a body like the one that he has photsoshopped of this woman.
Well if that’s right then sign me up to be a model because I’ve never had a personal trainer and my body is pretty damn incredible.
Message me on youtube to get my pix and set me up as a model.

Banning photoshop editing would be unconstitutional. The best thing to change that industry would be for the masses to want to see reality (not as in “reality TV”). Media responds to what the people want, and unfortunately they want to be lied to. They want terrible news, drama, and perfect bright faces in their movies and in their magazines. It’s incredible to go back and look at magazines from the 70s, you can see all imperfections – yet men still drool over the well-known Farrah poster… why is that?
yeah,you noticed that too…
she is.and if you question me she is even bitter…
I'm a bariatric patient, I had the surgery near 2 years ago. I know many bariatric patients and they are alive and delight in the life. You had "minor" complications but in general the most patients had medical conditions before the operation. Visit this site http://www.bariaticedge.com is very excellent information.
I had gastric bypass surgery in April 2005. I started out at 268, now I’m 180 and holding. These links will help you in many ways to make a choice if this is for you or not. I vote yes, because it made such a difference in my life. I was taking 8 pills a day, and after my surgery, I lost my diabetes. The way they do the surgery, takes your diabetes away. I no longer have to take glucophage, and I no longer have high Cholesterol or high blood pressure. I’m down to 2 pills a day. I went from a size 26-28 to a 16-18.

Most people struggle with paying for the surgery. Go to this site, it is a fantastic support system for you, because it’s only people who have had gastric bypass or lap band. Every insurance program has been rated, and you’ll get tips on how to deal with your insurance company, as well as, surgery tips, food tips, and just support. This site is free! I’d have to rate it a #1 site if you want to learn about the surgery and how to deal with the insurance companies and get support from other people in the same boat as you.
This is the #1 site for gastric bypass and it’s free! Extremely helpful! http://www.obesityhelp.com/
This clarifies about the surgery:

I really researched my surgeon, and I made a wise choice. Always get a surgeon that has done at least 200 of these surgeries. Get someone with a lot of experience, and you will do well.
Here’s all about my surgeon…

http://www.cmch.org/profile-pilkington.html
You just can’t find a better surgeon than him! He’s probably done at least 500 of the surgeries, so far. I did so well after my surgery, I thank him every time I see him.
I made it to 175! It's been nearly 2 years since my surgery. I haven't had any complications at all with my surgery! My health has been very excellent, and I've lost the weight nice and slow, so my body doesn't look that much out of shape. I've been faithfully taking my vitamins, and my blood work came back brilliant! I still reckon very highly of Dr. Pilkington, and would recommend to anyone thinking of this surgery, to have Dr. Pilkington as his or her surgeon. I'm walking proof, that he is an brilliant doctor. I just spoke to another patient of his who told me she had a very excellent experience with him, and she is in brilliant health, as well. He is a very caring doctor. I live in Florida in the winter. I see alot of folks down there because of my job, and I see people from all over the USA and overseas. Since my surgery, I've talked to lots of others that have had the surgery in Florida, and some of them didn't do as well, and I tend to reckon it's because their doctors weren’t as competent as mine. I feel that part of how you do, is because of your general health and attitude. The other major part is how excellent your doctor is.
