Would there be a Co-Pay for Bariatric Surgery with Medicare and Medicaid?

I was just wondering, I am on disability I live in Michigan and I am interested in getting the Bariatric Surgery done. Only thing is though the place I am looking at going to says you have to have all co-pays or deductibles paid in full prior to the surgery. Does anyone know if there would be a co-pay or deductible from Medicare (Primary) and Medicaid (Secondary)?

Medicare/Medicaid are just like any other insurance. contact your provider to find out what is covered. speak with your surgeon’s billing department about payment options.

It depends on which Medicare program you are under. If you have Part A and Part B, there will be a small co pay. If you have Medicare Advantage (Part C), you will have to consult with your private insurer to find out.

There is a book called 2009 Medicare And You. It has all of the details you need and you can download it. It is at the bottom of the home page
