Okay…I’m not trying to be rude, hideous or mean. But, You said Dieting is simple compared to this. If that fact is right then why don’t most people just diet instead of doing the extreme of a surgery. And yes any Surgery for weight loss is an extreme do to the chance of death.
Thank you!
Dont you reckon if it was simple as just going on a diet, we would do THAT instead of THIS? And youre right, it is extreme…but its EXTREMELY vital to get healthy and if this is what it comes down to to GET healthy, then thats what some of us have to do. I guess some people just dont get it.
gastric bypass they cut out parts of ur stomach and intestine…..w/the lap-band they place a band around part of ur stomach (the band has like a small balloon in it) and they slowly add water to the balloon over time to reduce the amount of food that is able to be held in the stomach…….lap band is better since its not a permanent removal of part of an organ
Lap band is where a rubber band type item is placed around your stomach and then tightened so that only a small amount of food will fit. Gastric bypas is where your stomach is really cut so you end up with a stomach that initially will hold about 1 oz. of food or liquid. It is then routed to your large intestine bypassing your small intestine. Both options have many risks. People have expired having both done and yet the number of successes is higher then the rate of death so it is very well loved. With the lap band, down the road you can have it removed and be back to normal. With G.B, it is a permenent fix. My concern is it is an simple out if you are stout, but if you don't change your eating and exercise habits then you are very likely to regain weight down the road. I've heard of people having bypass done then not following any sensible eating plot and had to have another bypass because they stretched out their small pouch. My brother in law had GB done and lost like 150 lbs in the first 6 months. He has since reached a plateau and is much healthier now then he was a few years ago. But with such a rapid weight loss you end up with a lot of excess (stretched out) skin, and most people will need cosmetic surgery to remove all that excess.
You are so pretty and seem like a sweetheart, congratulations on your weight loss, you should be so proud of yourself, and thank you for all the info, you really are helping others so ignore the rude people.
thanks so much
You eat that way in the beginning, it is like having your eating habits re-set. The small bowls and stuff help you re-learn what parts are and help change your perception of what is the new norm. i don’t do this as much now except for fun
“If you don’t have anything nice to say to people, then shut the f up!!! “….practice what you preach dear.
do u really have 2eat like that when u have it done? i mean what if u just eat till ur full?
Thanks! I really ignore the rude, I thank therm for watching. i must be fascinating to them if they are watching
Please also note that with both Gastric Bypass and lap band that it is possible to gain weight after you've take the weight off. You have to have responsible eating habits and exercise. It will take time to lose the weight as well. It's not like you'll wake up from the surgery 100lbs lighter. Trust me. I've had the gastric. It takes a while, but youre health is what matters.
