Help answer the question about laparoscopic hernia repair
Can I lift weights AFTER an umbilical hernia repair?I am in my mid twenties, and just had laparoscopic umbilical hernia repair. Two months have passed since the surgery, and I am off my lifting restrictions. Do you reckon it's safe for me to slowly start lifting weights again, or should I avoid it for the rest of my life? My surgeon said I should be OK if I start out slow. Is there anyone out there who's had this type of surgery, who has been OK so far lifting weights? I am not trying to win a competition, I just want to get toned, so I will be using less weight, more reps. Thanks to anyone who can answer and provide any input.
