I had bilateral Inguinal repair using the Lichtenstein tension-free. Had the surgery in 1995 and so far not a single problem. And believe me I have place it to the test, power lifting, olympic lifting, lifting/carrying/pushing various objects at work.
The only complaints I would list are ;greatest to least: It is a slow and painful recovery(i had one on each side but). Certain bending or twisting movements can sometimes cause a "pinching" sensation(my description for it) and the ungodly itching as your shaved hair grows back.
